apparently there are cell phones that are just an ear plug and an invisible
or barely visible mic with no need for hands.  so there are these people
walking around airports and all over who really look like they're talking to
themself.  so some people who walk down the street talking to themself will
no longer be called crazy. many are poets, anyway. one of my favorite poets,
bob kaufman, used to walk all over san francisco "talking to himself."  i
used to see him in the early 80s, the same time when i first saw someone
with a "walkman". i remember asking someone what the walkman was and they
told me that these were est people listening to tapes of werner erhardt.  i
guess est has really boomed over the last 20 years.
