According to Susan George & Fabrizio Sabelli's book, FAITH AND 
CREDIT: THE WORLD BANK'S SECULAR EMPIRE (Westview, 1994), the World Bank 
should be seen as being very similar to an organized religion. It is to
the era of global capitalism as the Roman Catholic Church was to feudalism.
So the WB's recent moves should be seen as an example of the ecumenical
movement.
