Gazelles don't exactly sit still. that's the point - _co-evolution, all species co-evolve in response to one another. Gazelles get faster and smarter, cheetahs get faster and smarter, etc. But if predators `went for it', ie allowed the population to increase, they would, after not too long, kill off all the gazelles even though they run fast. rkm
