I agree with Maggie. I some cases, globalization is moving into countries
that had achieved a relatively high level of industrial development (although
clearly not even close to the level of the North). This is the case of
some of the South American countries (Chile, Argentina). Maybe "stripazation"
is a term we should adopt, still, I think "deindustrialization" is a bit
clearer. Whatever the (de)merits of import-substitution, what has come to
replace it under the aegis of the neoliberal zealots of the World Bank and
the IMF is far worse.
