Well, happy new year, though frankly it looks like the same old
friggin' world to me.

I just happened upon some old notes of uncertain origin
according to which Victor Perlo fixes the cost of the Vietnam Non-war
at $518B in {choke} 1960-type dollars.  This includes final projections 
on vets' benefits and debt interest.

Have others arrived at markedly different sums, or has this become
a generally accepted figure on the left?
