At some point I would like to share my experiences this summer leading
an overseas study program on transition in Hungary, Slovenia, and the
Czech Republic. Without going into details, I think PEN-Lers will be
pleased to hear that the more dogmatically right-wing a country's
leadership is, the worse it's doing in the transition game.
