G'day all,

Anybody up to date on Sen's stuff? Apparently he's famous because he found
out that the presence or absence of food in a region is not a reliable
indicator on whether or not there'll be a famine (so says the Beeb). While
that sounds fair enough as far as it goes, I assume he's now famous because
he proposed compelling reasons for this (other than the bleeding obviously
logical gap between 'need' and 'demand' and the tendency of governments to
use discretion over food as a political resource).

'Night all,
Rob.
