few if any similarities to the period leading up to the Great

The list fails to mention the most important item as far as the
1930's goes:  pro-cyclical fiscal/monetary policy.  That isn't a
thing shared with the present.

As for those on the recession watch, I'd commend the recent stuff
by Wynne Godley of the Levy Institute, available gratis from
their web site.
