Thanks to Doug Ohmans for his idea of substituting Marx's notion of 'average constant capital' with that of 'marginal constant capital'. A terrific read as I try to square the apparent profit engine that is information with the law of value. Does information proffer 'gratuitous service' such as to bring into question the traditionally singular focus on labour? Is there a nettle here that needs grasping? (Reminder) Doug's piece is at: http://www.webshells.com/jdoug/Saving_Marxism.txt Cheers, Rob.
