And, still more important, he put his whole carreer and research to 
the service of this cause, without at the same time becoming a dram 
less rigorous. All of his interests (beginning with his approach to 
the national question) loudly ring the Puerto Rico bell for whoever 
wants to listen.

This is what I call scientific and political seriousness.
