That business in Alberta should favor a petition on this shows that even
among its strongest supporters the free-market ideology is being questioned.
Alberta is a stronghold in Canada of free-market, neo-liberal ideology. When
deregulation means that Alberta business is at a disadvantage compared to
provinces such as Manitoba where power is relatively cheap, ideology goes
out the window...Alberta has always struck me as a sort of northern
extension of Texan ways of thinking...
