Well, folks, the March-April 2001 issue of Challenge:
The Magazine of Economic Affairs (vol. 44, no. 2) is now
out (got ours last night), and it is a pen-l special. The
following papers appear in it.
"Another Failure of the Washington Consensus on Transition
Countries: Inequality and Underground Economies," by J.
Barkley Rosser, Jr. and Marina Vcherashnaya Rosser, pp. 39-50
(one of several on "Globalization 2001: Controlling It")
"The Cost of Living and Hidden Inflation," by James Devine,
pp. 73-84.
and, last but far from least (advertised as a rare theoretical piece
for this particular journal)
"Competition: The Hidden Costs of the Invisible Hand," by
Michael Perelman, pp. 85-124.
      Read them and weep.... :-).
Barkley Rosser
