This flap about Bush in the WH surprises me.
It's been in the media too. It's tantamount
to saying that if you're in a foxhole, you
are a wimp if you keep your head down.
When B was in FL, planes had not been accounted
for, and the plane that crashed in PA was headed
straight for D.C. It would have been positively
idiotic to head right back to Washington. Any
fool could see there was some kind of coordinated
attack, and the WH is a logical target. In fact
what surprises me most is that the WH was not the
principal target.

Tom Clancy looks better today than he did on Monday, but frankly the whole
bit about attacking the White House and (especially) Air Force One sounds
like it was cooked up to explain why Shrubya didn't fly back to the White
House right away.

People like Bush are _always_ chomping at the bit to be hawkish. The
terrorism just unleashed his inner hawk.

they leak in order to make a statement. Most leaks seem to be done as a
matter of government policy (or are done by a faction within the government
to push their policy).
