Two ethnographies of global production I found useful are:

"The Critical Study of Work: Labor, Technology and Global Production"
ed. by Rick Baldoz, Charles Koeber and Philip Kraft.

"Rising from the Ashes: Labor in the Age of 'Global Capitalism'" ed.
by Ellen Wood Peter Meiksins and Michael Yates.

There's also a new anthology edited by Michael Burawoy that looks
interesting but I have not read it yet.
