Good article except it doesn't really analyze the US strategic trade plans or how even the EU hasn't really been able to stand up to these plans. Again, trade and finance are always high on the agenda of the NSC , and the NSC is the ruling council of the US (most people think wrongly that special military policy and the handling of foreign policy crises are the purposes of the NSC).
