Don't Republicans usually sound better than Dems on war questions? Dems are always afraid of being labeled weak -- on Communism or whatever frightens us this year. LBJ has been cited as saying early that he knew Vietnam was a blunder, but that the Republicans would destroy him as weak if he didn't pursue military action.
