I've shot my wad on this issue (for now), but I don't see why having only two people involved is a bad thing, so that the dialogue should be excluded from pen-l. It's not like we're flaming or anything. If people aren't interested, they should simply delete before reading. But if people are interested, I'd like to hear what they have to say. Shutting off the dialogue prevents that.
