This illustrates the idealist role of radical islam in opposing the contradictions associated with imperialism and US hegemonism as they affect the muslim countries on the periphery of the large capitalist powers.
Interesting features are the support for a radical islamic state in Algeria, which was stopped by undemocratic interference in the election followed by severe repression;
Opposition to US opposition to the Kyoto treaty;
Opposition to comprador governments in islamic countreis that conform to the will of the USA.
A marxist influence approach to answering the contradictions in the world is essential if we are to reduce the divisions between working people of different faiths and cultures.
