Bush Says Worldwide Protests Won't Change Approach to Iraq
By DAVID STOUT

ASHINGTON, Feb. 18 — President Bush said today that he is still
determined to use force, if he must, to disarm Saddam Hussein, and that
a weekend of worldwide protests by millions of people did nothing to
change his mind.

"Democracy is a beautiful thing," Mr. Bush said. "People are allowed to
express their opinion, and I welcome people's right to say what they
believe."

it is telling that bush's understanding of democracy (at least the
beautiful version of it) is one where people get to say what they want,
but not decide on what they do.
