I wonder if anyone can (a) confirm/correct the following anecdote and (b) identify a source for it. I read it someplace long ago but no longer remember where.
Shortly after one of Marx's vacations in Germany in which he had been luxuriously entertained by some of his aristocratic friends, someone in London noted that such pleasures would not be available in the socialist future, and asked whether Marx would enjoy living in that future.
