Why all the brouhaha about Darfur? Sure things are bad there and the
Sudanese government seems very corrupt and worse. But there are a lot
of equally bad places and equally bad governments in the world. Some
or even most of the latter are allies of (and/or are subsidized by)
the US government.

My guess (and I haven't studied the matter) is that it's a pro-Israel
campaign: Sudan's government isn't just corrupt but Islamic.

By the way, why haven't I seen any postings about Darfur on pen-l? or
is it my own myopia?
