Another interesting observation: In that list of 192 academics, I managed to spot just three East Asians, possibly Chinese, but how can I tell whether they are Chinese or from some other East Asian country? It is the case that East Asians are under-represented at the US universities in fields such as economics and business, although it goes the other way around in natural sciences and mathematics, but still. Why is it that there are just three East Asians in that list? And just one Russian, if I am not wrong? There are many Indians among these 192, though. Who knows, maybe because they speak English quite well? And I spotted several Turkish, possibly 3, if not more, Daron Acemoglu being the best known among all. Dani Rodrik was not there though, another well-known Turkish. Further, neither Stiglitz, nor Akerlof was there, not that they are Turkish.
