Hear! Hear! Cutting working hours was put forward by Keynes as the
ultimate solution to full employment. It was proclaimed by Marx as the
essential prerequisite for social improvement and emancipation. The
19th century movement for the eight hour day was the incubator for the
working class movement in the US. Can we PLEASE have a bit more
interest in this vital policy issue from progressive economists?
