Long-term Capitalist Interest [was: Obama intends to stay in Iraq]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

thinking about this issue more, I think that the long-term collective
interests of the ruling class will always be unknown, uncertain. It's
why those folks and their advisers get together for conferences in
Gstaad and similar fancy venues and form discussion groups like the
Trilateral Commission and the Bilderbergs. They're trying to answer
the question.

The basics aren't in doubt, however: priority goes to preserving their
property and their hammerlock on society.

^^^
CB: Yeah, and from the basics can't most of the ruling class interests,
especially major ones, be inferred from the objective circumstances. Recall
that capitalism is a system, not a policy, for the capitalists, too. They really
don't decide their interests, especially big ones, in those meetings.. The
meetings are to think through what the objective conditions are and how what
strategy is pertinent in the concrete situation based on the premise of what
you call "basics" and applying logic to make a strategy for the basic goals in
the current objective conditions.

So, we can infer from the basics and objective circumstances many of the same
conclusions that they do in secret property meetings.
