yes, economics is not a science, but economists should strive to be
scientific (even if it's not possible). I'd think that it's better to
try to understand the world than to wallow in confusion.

it's true that the Mayas predicted that the world is going to end in
2012 and they've never been wrong before, but there's no point in
giving up.
