I don't have time to look them up right now, but extensive statistics back this. The single best predictor of how well a student will do in the classroom is the class and caste positions of the custodial parents. For K-12 students who are poor, the single intervention that is linked to the best improvement in performance is a school breakfast program! So it is not that a school can't do a better or worse job even given a large number of students who are in a position worse than prosperous working class. But class and caste position are the single biggest correlation with results, no matter how measured. > _______________________________________________ > pen-l mailing list > pen-l@lists.csuchico.edu > https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l -- Facebook: Gar Lipow Twitter: GarLipow Grist Blog: http://www.grist.org/member/1598 Static page: http://www.nohairshirts.com _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list pen-l@lists.csuchico.edu https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
