It's a mistake to reduce it to racism. The white male blue-collar
workers I referred to are also resentful about women's relative
success in the market place in recent decades (i.e., the rise in the
female/male wage ratio) and so go for Rush Limbaugh's rhetoric about
"feminazis," etc. I could go on...

In any event, are there any polls or other data that (1) show a hiving
off of a significant number of blue-collar workers from the DP and
into the GOP in recent decades and (2) help explain why they have done
so? Doug?
