They consume profits, they don't produce them. Their "industry" (except commercial banking, which is an unproductive though necessary form of labor) is entirely parasitical. It's symbolized by the criminal scam of every investment bank etc. paying huge "salaries" and "bonuses" to traders for playing a zero-sum game in which there are no net gainers, therefore no "profits," while barefacedly claiming that this scam is essential to their business and to the whole world economy.
