The book THE NEW JIM CROW (and its author) is getting a lot of play, e.g. on NPR and Democracy Now.
I want to recommend it strongly to the list. The crime against a slice of the US population is certainly a crime against humanity. And it is also a macro economic issue that doesn't get noticed in the employment issues. People a disappeared, not unemployed, is what happens.
