Katja Kipping and Bernd Riexinger have been elected co-chairs of the party Die Linke, thus averting a victory by the right-wing, government-oriented Dietmar Bartsch. This is a major, major victory for the activist wing of the party. The co-chair constellation of Kipping and Riexinger was also the expressed wish of the prominent party intellectual Sarah Wagenknecht.
