``Nixon began a secret bombing campaign in Cambodia, sending B-52 bombers
over the border from South Vietnam. This episode, largely buried in history,
resurfaced recently in an unexpected place: the Obama administration’s
“white paper” justifying targeted killings of Americans suspected of
involvement in terrorism.'' (NYT, Obama's Nixonian Precedent)

-----------

Missing was the note that bombing Cambodia had very little effect on
supplying the North regulars, hence the invasion by ground troops.

Nice. It illustrates profound stupidity and the thorough absence of
understanding history in the Obama administration. It's okay, cause Nixon
did it? Nixon was a war criminal and he lost under the code name, Peace with
Honor.

What follows is the idea Vietnam was a fight against terrorism to stablize a
friendly democratic regime in Saigon. Thus the historical surrealism of
Washington continues on its own seamless course.
