It would be nice if it were simply Pete Peterson's doing (as the Austerian Lenin). But if he didn't exist, there are lots of millionaires, billionaires, and financiers who could fill his Gucci combat boots. Austerity is the program of one wing of the world ruling class. Long before Peterson's rise in prominence, the IMF imposed austerity on a lot of poorer countries. Now, as the rich countries' economies are becoming more like the those of the poorer ones in terms of economic dependency, the IMF and the rest are applying the same policies to them. And our Noble and Wise President is part of that crowd. ^^^^^^^ CB: Lets discuss further the world ruling class. In what way does it make its decisions ?
