Doug Henwood engaged the issue of shorter working time today by interviewing Professor Kathi Weeks of Duke University. Her book THE PROBLEM WITH WORK was published in 2011 by the Duke Univ. Press.
She is very good. She recommends shorter hours and a basic income for all. But her thinking (and I assume the book) is much deeper than simple demands. She has thought deeply about work, how we think about work, etc. And about how shorter hours can lead on to ...
