I was trying to say that although the friend would describe himself as a 
post-Keynesian, he was sufficiently persuaded by Palley's critique of 
Piketty to send me a link to it. In other words, even though he is no 
Marxist, he found the assumptions of Piketty's book flawed. My guess is 
that there is widespread dissatisfaction with the book by people who 
would seem its biggest fans not so much on the basis of its findings 
(obviously it is a good thing that inequality is being attacked) but on 
its theoretical foundations and inability to see beyond private property.
