As they go to the polls today, "the debate over Scotland’s constitutional 
future has polarized along socio-economic lines, with low-income and 
working-class Scots disproportionately in favour of a yes vote and wealthier 
Scots overwhelmingly against." For Jackie Anderson and many of her neighbours 
in North Glasgow, separation from the UK has less to do with national identity 
than gaining control over the economy and improving living conditions in one of 
Europe’s most unequal societies.
