The theory that makes the pope wrong is the same one that makes the left, the
right and almost everyone else wrong. That theory is the is based on the
incredible belief that more people can always make more wealth, as if resources
are not important. If we don't understand that he has accepted that false theory
it's a puzzle how the good pope can be against birth control.

The unwashed version of the labor theory of value does imply we face no limits.

Almost everyone denies that we are parasites on the planet, but we don't earn
what we take from nature. Our pride as creators, the common delusion that we are
independent, and our belief that innovation will save us combine to make our
extinction rather likely.

If the pope, and other good people, are deluded by stupid theories we will not
be able to stop the plunder of our little planet. Good intentions are not
enough. We also need to turn on our bs detectors. (Don't hold your breath)

One unpopular theory we need to embrace is that poverty is caused by
over-population. If the pope really wants to help reduce the impact of our
un-economic and suicidal pursuit of growth in all it's forms, he needs to pass
out rubbers, instead of standing in the way of stabilizing the population.

He is against painting religions as jokes, He's against the funny hats that
stand in the way, but he is not doing enough to erase that picture with his
denial of the possibility of too many people. That denial is a joke, but it is
not funny. Some people pray on their knees, but standing proudly erect we all
prey on the planet.
