As usual Hedges is rather prolix, but he's certainly got this right. 
Primary challenges only strengthen the machinery of the duopoly; Sanders 
is a Judas goat. Third party challenges are another matter. As is 
clearly shown by the insensate fury Democrats still exhibit at the name 
of Ralph Nader.

Though I agree with Carrol that for the US Left to waste any time on 
electoral politics in any form is, to say the least, premature at this 
stage of the game.
