Apparently Raghu has never noted that I have never grounded any of my posts in an appeal to the "authority" of Marx. That is not accidental. I have often quoted from Chapter 14 of Wages, Price and Profit simply because that is the best wording I know of the case against one sort of "Marxism": the sort that thinks there is political relevance in endlessly forwarding bourgeois accounts of how terrible the world is (i.e., fwd of NYT articles on inequality). The point is that the very _misedry_ of capitalism is the strongest defense of capitalism: misery crushes hope and therefore crushes militant activity.
