What the Troika doesn’t want is the example of even a moderate left-wing 
government in Greece challenging Europe’s big bankers, their finance 
ministers, and their government buddies. What they don’t want is 
Syriza—and the example it sets to other rising parties on the left and 
right who might also challenge the neoliberal status quo. And if they 
can’t get Syriza to self-destruct itself by more concessions, then 
they’ll continue to search for another way. What Syriza represents is an 
attempt to return to a Social Democracy of a previous day and age. And 
that’s just not acceptable in the new, global neoliberal world system.
