The Faculty of Humanities is a diverse and stimulating intellectual
environment representing the full span of disciplines in the humanities
and social sciences, with 18 Departments, 3 Research Centres and 2 NRF
SARChi Chairs. The Faculty seeks a Research Professor to drive a strong
research agenda in any area falling under one of these disciplines or
between disciplines. A Research Professor has no undergraduate teaching
duties, but is expected to focus entirely on developing a strong
research programme, supervising graduate students and postdoctoral
research fellows, and publishing in top international journals and with
reputable presses.
*Responsibilities:
***·Publish papers DHET-subsidised outputs (papers in internationally
accredited journals; books/chapters with international presses)
·Supervise postgraduate students and postdoctoral research fellows
·Develop international partnerships
·Actively pursue external funding opportunities
·Maintain a good NRF rating
