Michael Klare, just 2 or 3 or 5 years ago ā only yesterday in pundit-years ā was an avid peak-oil predictor. He specializes in staying in front of where he thinks the parade is going. He knows little about oil industry, though that lack of understanding slows him not at all.
In the blog you cite he reveals he does not understand the climate issue. As you point out, global warming would not be stopped even if Klare were correct about his vision of the future energy system. Thus he can tell his students where to seek careers. Iām disappointed that Tom Dispatch keeps publishing Klare. Here is Klare in Tom Dispatch, 7/14/2009: > It's a reasonable assumption that behind this unprecedented shift lies an > acknowledgement of the inescapable reality of peak oil.
