The Minneapolis Fed has replaced its president. The one being termed-out was
thought, at the time of appointment, to be a conservative, Univ of Chicago guy.
Which he was. But he soon changed into someone concerned with unemployment
and a sagging economy. A “dove” in Fed speak.

His replacement is Neel Kashkari, an ex Goldman Sachs banker, who looks certain
to be “reliable” by those choosing the president in Minneapolis.

The story about the departing president, Narayana Kocherlakota, is interesting
for his own description of a personal transformation.
