========= Actually, Barbara Fried and other legal scholars have made a rather interesting case that some of the legal realists actually did, following the reactions to Oliver Wendell Holmes; a jurist who saw the harms of moralism up close. Iirc even Posner acknowledges they beat him to the punch even as their theories of law were different.
