Me (on voter's doorstep, wearing Bernie hat): "So, are you going to the caucus?"
Minnesota voter: "Well, I'm really more of a Republican, but I do prefer Bernie to any of the other candidates." Me: (conspiratorial whisper): "Well, *I promise you*, if you go to the Democratic caucus *just this one time*, you *won't* get 'Democratic cooties.' *I won't tell!"* Minnesota voter: (laughing, and yet visibly relieved): "OK! Good!" Like: if you *promise*, cross your heart and hope to die, that you won't tell a living soul that I went to a Democratic caucus, then I'll go and vote for Bernie. *OK, it's a deal!*
