reporting. (Here on the Left Coast, by the way, we don't get any Presidential campaign 
ads, since it's been decided that CA is Kerry-land.)

The chief remedy for this is to stay away from TV news and read the
front page quickly. The important things to argue don't require any
knowledge of what is happening out there today (yesterday, or tomorrow).
I have read or watched no campaign news, but reading an occasional first
paragraph (or less) of posts sent in by ABBs keeps on up on the daily
repetition without becoming so tired.

It will be nice, however, when we again have political discussion
instead of sports journalism on political maillists.
