The introduction of Hooters in China is a step backward.  I can't locate
the reference, but I think it is from William Appelman Williams, in
which he describes the problem of overproduction of cotton in the United
States.  Perhaps it was Sockless Jerry Simpson, the populist senator,
who said that if only we could find a way to have the Chinese have their
shirts 1 inch longer, the problem would be solved.  Here we are trying
to get the Chinese to adopt minimal clothing.
