Ali Shariati (Islamic writer) was much impressed by F. Fanon and wrote to say that Shiism puts an Islamic face on the rise of Persian nationalism. He is much loathed by the present Mullah regime in Iran for in one of his articles he commented that Iran in its wars on the Ottomans (19 century) opened the door for the West to ravage the much impoverished Islamic East. While today the Sunni fallujah lies bare before the aggressors massacred in typical American horrific might, the Iraqi shiites allegiance to Iran makes for ignorant politics because they are next and because more importantly this position of wait and see weakens humanity's anti imperialist struggle. The chances that Iran escape with a nuclear weapon and threaten the US sphere of influence in the Gulf are slim even when the price to pay for now are the Fallujans.
