On Mon, 21 Feb 2005, Michael Perelman quoted an NYT article saying:
The median lifetime cost of a soldier is about $4 million today and growing, according to a Pentagon study."
But according to the long study of the VA I posted yesterday

Veterans represent a steadily declining share of the population.
I think they guys quoted in the NYT article might be in part trying to sell robots :o)
