Someone at Ford asked Marianne Moore to help with a name for the new car
they were planning. She plunged into the task, sending name after name
after name. The last letter in the exchange was something like "Dear
Miss Moore, thank you very much but we have decided to use a name that
is important in Ford history, Edsel." The whole exchange got published
somewhere back in 1957 or 58 -- perhaps in the New Yorker.
