Governor Pat Brown, Jerry's father, attempted to convert California defense 
contractors 
into civilian business during the 70s.  The results were mostly ridiculous.  
The closest 
one to finding a market was Lockheed, I believe, that wanted to have something 
like a 
breathalyzer to work before you could turn on the ignition for your car.  That 
was the best 
of the lot.
